Here's how it was... Created by fans of the movie Serenity, Can't Stop the Serenity (CSTS) has become a worldwide benefit movement. What began with Portland, Oregon, and a handful of U.S. cities quickly grew into a global event with organizers signing on from Adelaide, Australia, to Leeds, UK.

Can't Stop the Serenity is more than a fan revival; sure, fans get to see Serenity on the big screen, but more important, Equality Now can benefit from a truly unique, worldwide fund-raiser.
Why Equality Now?
Equality Now is Joss Whedon's (writer/director of Serenity) charity of choice. It was founded in 1992 by Jessica Neuwirth, who was deeply inspired by her mentor Lee Stearns (Whedon's mother).
Equality Now is an international organziation that works for the protection and promotion of the human
rights of women around the world. Working with national human rights organizations and individual activists,
Equality Now documents violence and discrimination against women and mobilizes international action to support
